All members of the 2025 Antarctica Field Team are now safely in Antarctica to kick off the 2025 field work in the Erebus Bay Study Area. The first five researchers who previously arrived at McMurdo are out on the sea ice today, surveying the conditions while dialing in their extreme cold weather clothing systems and gear. There will be extensive snowmobile travel, work with the Weddell seals and reconnaissance helo flights ahead for all. The three researchers who have just arrived at McMurdo will be joining the others now working out on the sea ice very soon.

Currently, communications from McMurdo Station are limited, and we hope to post photos of the team before too long, so please stay tuned!
